2011 Dell Venue Pro Windows Phone 7 Smartphone

Microsoft held its key press office event this week with the launch of a number of Windows Phone 7 smartphones. There were five HTCs, one LG and one Samsung. You can catch up on all of these on 3G's HTC, Samsung and LG sections under our Phone News.

What we didn't mention earlier was the new Dell Venue Pro Windows Phone 7 smartphone. This was primarily because it was stated as being for a T-Mobile USA release only at the Microsoft Windows Phone 7 press event.

However, many news sites are now predicting that the Dell Venue Pro Windows Phone 7 will be heading to the UK.

The spec for the Dell Venue Pro Windows Phone 7 is that it has a 4.1" WVGA AMOLED capacitive, multi-touch display and full portrait QWERTY keyboard.

It comes in a elliptical, slender form providing elegance in a pocket-friendly size and Gorilla Glass for unprecedented durability and scratch resistance.

The HTC Desire HD has now been put back from its original 14th October release date to the 22nd of October. The mobile site Crave has reported its failed a Google approval test which will take a few days to rectify and achieve approval.

The HTC Desire HD is a real power-packed multi-media mobile that features a brilliant 4.3 inch WVGA touch-screen, 8 mega-pixel camera which doubles to record HD video, 1.5GB of onboard memory and WiFi support. The mobile is powered by a 1 GHz processor and has 768MB of ram which is enough for smooth multi-tasking and playback of HD videos.

T-Mobile Wireless Pointer Launched

A new mobile Wi-Fi device has been launched by T-Mobile. The new device is called the T-Mobile Wireless Pointer and acts a wireless hotspot so that devices such as smartphones, netbooks etc, can be connected to mobile broadband by sharing the Wi-Fi hotspot.

3, Orange and Vodafone have launched similar devices, the latest of these being Orange Mobile Wi-Fi.

The Wireless Pointer offers something more than other Wi-Fi modems. This is because the Wireless Pointer has a signal indicator which monitors the mobile broadband signal strength being received.

This is useful as you can adjust the position to achieve the best possible signal being received. The T-Mobile Wireless Pointer will be included for free when a 2 year mobile broadband contract is taken out. Pricing or the availability date is not yet known. The Wireless Pointer will be available on Pay As You Go for under £60.

T-Mobile have launched the T-Mobile Vibe, which is a budget mobile aimed at the younger market.

The T-Mobile Vibe costs £31.99, which is probably the right sort of price range for the pre-teen and early teen market , which this mobile is aimed at.

The T-Mobile Vibe has heavy social networking features with Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and Bebo all pre-loaded on the mobile. This is an absolute must for the youth of today and an excellent move by T-Mobile.

Other features of the mobile include a 2.8 inch touch-screen and a sliding QWERTY keyboard. Both will improve the ease of internet browsing, social networking and email vastly and is another excellent addition. The Vibe also has a 2 mega-pixel camera , Bluetooth, FM radio, MP3 player and a 2GB microSD card.

Samsung Galaxy S Android Update Delayed On Orange and T

Samsung released the SIM-free version of the update at the start of November and it has since been released by Three at the start of December.

Orange and its partner T-Mobile originally planned to launch the update in November and also planned to be the first network to release the update over-the-air.

Sadly, neither has come to fruition with Orange today announcing on its Twitter page that the update will not be available till January and also that it will now only be available over Kies, which is Samsung's update software.

The whole situation has caused an outrage on both the T-Mobile and Orange forums with unhappy customers hitting out at the networks.

However, when it does finally launch the Android 2.2 update will bring full Adobe Flash support, the ability to use your mobile as a personal Wi-Fi network and the capability to install applications on a microSD card.
